Adair's Widlerness Lodge
"Among the people who have fought to keep the Fundy shore free of the trappings of civilization ... are Ida and Larry Adair (owners and operators of Adair's Wilderness Lodge). Larry grew up in these woods; his grandmother was born in a house just up the road from Larry and Ida's remote home on the shores of Walton Lake. When a parcel of William Randolph Hearst's property came on the market, Larry and Ida knew if they didn't buy it and build a good wilderness lodge, opening the land to responsible public use, someone else might do something far less appealing. The result is a comfortable, accommodating lodge and cabins, which have become a Mecca for those who love the outdoors in all seasons. In the winter it is awash in snowmobiles; fishermen come in the spring and fall; hikers and mountain bikers stop here in the summer. Their restaurant is open to the public. They take guests on hiking and nature tours, canoe adventures, and excursions to nearby natural attractions, including moss-covered glacial erratic and many waterfalls in the area." * " All the food at this cedar lodge in the woods is made in the kitchen from scratch. You are served hearty portions of just about anything you like, including scallops, rainbow trout, and sirloin steak. If you like fresh lobster, call ahead ..." ** If you are into adventure and good clean wholesome outdoor activity then you need to visit Adair's Wilderness Lodge.
